  • WARNING! TELEPHONE SCAM! Some international students in the UK have recently been targeted as part of a telephone scam.Some students have received a fake telephone call where someone pretending to be the Home Office asks the student to pay money. Please remember that the Home Office will never call an international student to request payments or ask for personal details in this way.  DO NOT make payments or give information to anyone calling you like this.   • Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs) – The Home Office has introduced biometric residence permits (BRPs) for people outside the UK who apply for a visa to come to the UK for more than six months.  UKCISA have detailed information about this on their website click here to view this information.
  • Immigration Health Surchargethe immigration health surcharge was introduced by the Home Office on 6 April 2015. The health surcharge means that temporary, non-EEA migrants coming to the UK for more than six months will pay for healthcare. The health surcharge will be set at £150 a year for students (and each dependant).
