Whilst we can give general information on how to apply for a Schengen Visa to visit Europe, there is no central source of information.

This information is intended as a guide only; each Embassy may have more specific requirements and up-to-date information so you MUST check with the Embassy before you make any application for a Schengen Visa.

It will be at the discretion of the individual Embassy whether they issue you with a Schengen visa. It is therefore your responsibility to check with the individual Embassy where you will be applying.

The Schengen Visa Scheme allows visitors to use only one visa to visit a number of countries within the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, for the duration of the visa.

As of 28/01/2014 there are 26 countries in the Schengen Visa Scheme (click on the country to visit their embassy website):

(The UK and Ireland are not part of the Schengen Visa Scheme).
